Session 31 — Like a Meteor

Area: Ether (or what Taara believes is Ether), then the Sorceress's den

Context

Prepared as The Cold Hearth: a walk across frozen Ether to the Burning Tree, a choice there, then a cut to the den with the pack at the door. The session ended on the Tree's choice going the way of the Thaw, and on a way home the prep did not have.

Ether's Flame Restored

Taara, Myra, Logi and Cinder stood on Ether, frozen, with Ether's Flame in the Amulet of the Planes around Taara's neck.

Ether's Flame is restored. The Heart of Ether went back where it came from, to the Burning Tree.

Taara Remembers

When Taara went to Ether, her memories were fully restored. Everything that was taken from her came back. It did not fade when she left: she came home remembering, and it stayed that way.

Like a Meteor

The necklace flew home. The Amulet of the Planes took off, and the three of them held onto it. They came out of Ether like a meteor, hanging from the necklace as it went.

Between Two Clans

They came down before the werewolf den: the Sorceress's den, where Mark, Khione and Yager had been left.

In front of the den two werewolf clans stood opposed to each other. The party landed in the middle of them.

At the end of the session everyone is back together, in front of the den, between the two clans.

Where It Stands

• Ether's Flame is back in the Burning Tree. It is no longer in the Amulet.
• Taara's memories are fully restored, and they stayed restored after the return.
• The Amulet of the Planes flew home and carried Taara, Myra and Logi with it. Taara has it.
• The party is back together before the werewolf den: Taara, Myra, Logi, Mark, Khione, Yager.
• Two werewolf clans stand opposed to each other in front of the den, and the party is in the middle.
• Mark is still a pure soul with a good sword. His evil half and the evil sword are still on an unknown plane.

Fill in or let lie: what Taara has told the others of what she remembers; who cast the restoring and how it was named (did Cinder stay out of the Tree?); what Strahd said through the flame, and whether the chain around the Tree's roots was seen; whether any Zephyrian woke; what Ether looked like when they left; whether the crossing home took anything from Myra and Logi; who the two clans are; where Kyra and the Sorceress are; how Mark, Khione and Yager got out in front of the den.
